2002, the Year the Olympics Came to Utah (of all places)

It was the year after 9/11, the year that saw the invasion of Afghanistan, the  prosecution of Enron executives, and, on a more positive note, the arrival of the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.  It was also the year that John Alexander and Robin Nobles, with a shared vision for improving the quality of education in the principles and practices of Search Engine Optimization, held their first Search Engine Workshop in San Antonio Texas.   10 years later and the Search Engine Academy is going strong, with associate training centers all over the world.

I’m proud to say that several months later I was one of the earliest attendees at these groundbreaking SEO training seminars, which was where I first met John Alexander.  Who would have thought 10 years ago that when Search Engine Academy’s 10th anniversary rolled around I would be an instructor with them.  And it’s a bit poetic that some of the first classes I’ll be teaching will be in nearby Salt Lake City (my headquarters is in Grand Junction, Colorado, which is a scant 30 miles from the Utah border).

Search Engine Academy SEO workshops have always been focused on small class size, individualized attention, and constant improvement to keep up with the ever-shifting world of search engine marketing and optimization.

I’m thrilled to be heading up the new Rocky Mountain Search Engine Academy, and our first SEO training workshops will be hosted in Denver starting in March and Salt Lake City beginning in April.

In both cities I will be teaching the SEO Essentials workshop, for people who want to make sure that they are doing their search engine work on sound principles, and the SEO Advanced Skills workshop, designed to take basic SEO skills to the next level of expertise.  I teach the two classes back to back, which constitutes the SEO Mastery workshop, or, as I call it SEO 0-60 in 5 days.

Check out the Rocky Mountain Search Engine Academy course catalog for a full listing of dates and times.  And if you’re looking for the same training in other areas of the country, please visit the main Search Engine Academy website for more information.
