Keyword Research – Wordtracker
Our preferred keyword research tool for SEO is Wordtracker. Over the years they’ve shown a commitment to accumulating their own very high quality data, but additionally they allow you to factor Google’s data into your keyword research. They’ve been continually updating their interface as well to provide more power while retaining maximum simplicity. Click Here to Sign up Online for a free trial of Wordtracker’s SEO keyword research service. The monthly subscription, as of this writing, is $79, but I highly recommending getting the annual subscription, which saves you almost $400. Wordtracker will help you avoid putting time and energy into keywords that are a waste, and will allow you to pick out opportunities that easily earn back the cast in weeks, if not days.
SEO Powersuite: Keyword Research, Rankings Tracking, Site Assessment, Linkbuilding

Third Party Services
Search Engine Friendly Directory submissions - by Directory Maximizer (I’m currently testing this service, so I don’t have a review up yet, but they look promising. And yes, I realize directories have less value than they did in terms of PageRank, however I’m checking to see if they have continued value for link reputation.) Local directory submissions by Universal Business Listing- This service gets both good and bad reviews online. So far I’ve just started using them and my initial experience is that there has been a positive effect in local results. Still gathering data on this however.
Desktop XML Sitemap Generator
I just recently started using SiteMap Generator by WonderWebWare and so far am impressed by its functionality and ease of use not only for spidering my domains and creating an XML Sitemap, but also for checking to see if whatever WordPress Plugin I’m using is doing its job. If you’re reading this, so far it’s been good enough to leave on my resources page. It’s free to download and use, but to make use of all the functionality they will guilt you into donating…which actually is ok with me.
